Waste and recycling
Bin collections

Blue, brown and black binOur council operates a three bin system for the collection of your household waste. A blue bin for your dry recyclables, brown bin for your compostable garden waste and black bin for your remaining domestic waste.

Your bins will be collected on alternate weeks and should always be out and presented at the kerbside with the lids shut by 6.30am, regardless of any normal collection time. Whilst on most weeks a collection round and time remains similar we occasionally need to change routes or times for operational reasons.

Please return your bin to your garden or off road storage area as soon as possible after it has been emptied.

Please note that there are two crews that empty your bins on your collection day, one for your black and blue bins and one crew for your brown bin.

What can I put in each bin?

For a full list of what can go in each of your bins, please read Your guide to recycling (PDF 287Kb).

When are my bins collected?

Use our Bin collection round search to check which day your bins are collected and find out which bins will be collected each week.

For information on changes due to public holidays visit our Bank holiday bin collections page.
