Quotations and tender

How we tender

The value of a contract determines the procedures that we must follow. The value determines how many quotes we need to obtain or whether a full tender process must be entered into. The quotation process (for contracts less than £50,000) involves officers obtaining at least three competitive quotations. The full tender process (for contracts greater than £50,000) is a more formal process.

Where we advertise tenders?

To meet council's constitution and the EU Procurement Directives, we are required to advertise tenders electronically as well as relevant local publications.

All tenders above EU threshold value are advertised in the Supplement to the Official Journal of European Union (OJEU).

Please follow the links below to access council's tender opportunities:

You can also directly access our tenders on the external website or you can use the table below.

St Edmundsbury Tender Information

We may also place tender opportunities in local newspapers including :

  • East Anglian Daily Times
  • Bury Free Press
  • Haverhill Echo
  • Cambridge Evening News

Advertisements may also be placed in appropriate trade journals.

For a full tender process we are likely to ask you to complete a background questionnaire. This will ask you to provide details about your company's financial standing, capabilities, experience and where references can be obtained. You should thoroughly read any documents that are sent to you and complete as much information as possible where required.
