Equality, human rights and discrimination for suppliers

Our equality commitments

We recognise that people may experience different forms of disadvantage depending on their age, ethnicity, race, gender, religion and belief, sexual orientation, marital or civil partnership status and whether or not they have a disability.

As a service provider and employer we are committed to promoting equal opportunities and eliminating all forms of discrimination. We examine our policies and practices to guard against institutional discrimination. We are also committed to providing services fairly to all sections of the community and valuing cultural diversity.

We aim to provide:

  1. services that are fully accessible;
  2. equal and appropriate opportunities in employment and recruitment;
  3. effective partnership working with all sectors of the community.

We ensure that the purchase of goods, services and facilities is undertaken in line with our commitment to ensure equality of access and opportunity for all. We aim to ensure that our suppliers abide by the law and are working to best practice in this area.  As part of our tender evaluation criteria, suppliers are required to provide evidence that they have appropriate equal opportunities policies in place and are committed to them.
