On 17 March 2010 Cabinet passed the report of the Policy Development Committee for the Tourism and Visitor Strategy (PDF 14Kb).

The Tourist Information Centre offers a range of services and information:

For anyone visiting Bury St Edmunds, the Radar National Key Scheme key offers disabled people independent access to 9,000 accessible locked toilets around the country. In St Edmundsbury these toilets can be found at Clare Castle, Haverhill Recreation Ground and Ram Meadow car park in Bury St Edmunds. 	Gift shop - Visit the Tourist Information Centre's shop to buy souvenirs and much more! or order from our Souvenir and gift range by phone.
	Internet cafe - Get online at the Tourist Information Centre! It costs just £1.80 for 30 minutes, £2.50 for an hour and is available during normal opening hours. Hot and cold drinks plus chocolate bars can be purchased.

Staff at the Tourist Information Centre help thousands of people every year. Among the most common questions are:

• Where are the places to eat? This includes do we have … a fish and chip shop, a tea room, a pub with a garden or specific chain eating and drinking places, from both local people and visitors.

• Where can I stay in the area?

All our staff are well trained and are in the process of completing the Enjoy England training programme. We were regional finalists in the Awards for Excellence 2007, and we have been finalists in the Tourism in Suffolk Awards in 2006 and 2008 and winners in 2010.
