Haverhill Local History Centre
The history centre is a resource, exhibition and study centre with materials relating to Haverhill and surrounding villages. Collections include:
- over 6,000 photographs, the earliest dating from 1860;
- microfilm of the local newspaper from its first issue in 1888; and
- 3,000 publications, research papers and maps.
A changing programme of exhibitions is on display, and panels from earlier exhibitions are available on free loan to schools and organisations. Publications about Haverhill are on sale in the history centre, and lectures on topics of local interest are held on the last Wednesday of the month from September to May at 7.30pm (December meeting date varies).
