America 400 Event, Sunday 6 May 2007

This event has now passed.

This year is the 400th anniversary of Jamestown and there will be many events throughout the year to celebrate this.

Bury St Edmunds joined in the fun and hosted an America 400 Day on May 6 2007.

Abbey Gardens central area

The event started at midday in the Abbey Gardens. There was lots of entertainment including:

  • 17th century village
  • 1940s dance;
  • a wild west show;
  • craft marquee;
  • history displays; and
  • music.

On Angel Hill there was be a military parade and a Friendship Service at the Cathedral.
