Churchgate Street

Bury St Edmunds has every sort of store from the large high street names to family-run businesses, and fascinating small gift shops sit comfortably side-by-side, offering quality, choice, value and convenience. When you need a break there are plenty of tea shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs for a drink, meal or snack.

The town is at its busiest on Wednesdays and Saturdays when people flock to the Buttermarket and Cornhill to visit one of the best provision markets in East Anglia. The market has stalls with fruit and vegetables, clothes, hardware, fabric, pet foods, flowers, seafood, shoes and other speciality goods. Bury market now has its own website at gobury.com/market.

Our traffic-free areas, ample parking and warm welcome make shopping a real pleasure.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council is committed to having an accessible shopping environment in Bury St Edmunds. As part of this commitment it runs a Shopmobility Scheme for the town.

You can check out what's on offer at the weekly Corn Exchange Craft Market, open every Wednesday.
