Heritage Services Review

St Edmundsbury Borough Council's Cabinet commissioned a review in June 2005 of all our museums and heritage services. The review covered:

  • Moyse's' Hall Museum, Bury St Edmunds
  • Manor House Museum, Bury St Edmunds
  • Haverhill Local History Centre
  • West Stow Country Park and Anglo-Saxon Village
  • Museum store

The review looked at both the way we deliver our heritage services and from an asset management point of view (are we delivering the best services from the most cost effective places?). The aim was to provide options for the future which increased access to the collections while reducing costs. The review was considered by Policy Development Committee on 23 November 2005 and by Cabinet on 7 December 2005, full Council took the final decision on 13 December 2005.
