Bardwell is a pretty, well kept village in the north east of the borough. There is a fully working windmill, built in 1825 and restored in the mid 1980s. It is now run as a family business making wholefoods, and visitors are welcome throughout the year to witness corn being ground as it was 150 years ago. Bardwell also has a very attractive 15th century church.
