Public consultations are an important way of finding out what you think of our services and policies.

Giving us your views also helps us to find out what is important to you so we can provide services which are cost effective and efficient.

Proposals for where new homes should be built in St Edmundsbury's villages will be discussed by the council over the next few weeks. Public consultation is due to begin on 12 April.

Ixworth Conservation Area AppraisalIxworth Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan Consultation (PDF 1.5Mb) 

Views are being sought on a draft character appraisal which will be used to help protect the special nature of the Ixworth Conservation Area. As part of the appraisal, several amendments to the conservation area boundary are proposed.

Comments should be emailed to conservation@stedsbc.gov.uk or by post to the Conservation Team, Planning Policy and Specialist Services,
 Planning and Economic Development, St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Western Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3YU.

You can discuss the draft document with the conservation officers at a drop-in session at Ixworth Library between 4 and 7pm on Tuesday 2 March. The document can also be viewed at the borough council offices in Western Way and Ixworth Library, High Street, Ixworth.

As part of the ongoing enhancement of the streets in the town centre the borough council would very much like your views on possible changes to the area of St Andrews Street North between Bishops Road and Risbygate Street together with Risbygate Street between School Yard and St Andrews Street.

Chauntry Mills Chauntry Mills, Haverhill

You have the opportunity to comment on the future use of a historic town centre site. Chauntry Mills, a substantial Grade II listed building, is one of the most important buildings in the town centre and should be kept, although it may be difficult to accommodate new uses within it.
