The AQMA was designated following a detailed assessment that showed that the annual mean level of ntirogen dioxide exceeded the objective level for that pollutant at the facade of residential properties in the vicinity of The Street, Great Barton. The advice that this alone was sufficient to result in the designation of an AQMA based on exposure to residential occupiers is considered incorrect and that the AQMA was therefore wrongly declared.

The council is consulting on its proposed general standard conditions that will apply to all premises and specific conditions that will apply to the different types of premise. Those standard conditions may be revised following consideration of responses received on or before the closing date.
