This Development Plan document will replace many of the policies within each authorities Local Plan with locally–specific development management policies covering a wide range of topics including housing, employment, transport and the preservation of both authorities environmental areas, which will add to and complement national planning policy.

The borough council's corporate plan is a key document which sets out our short to medium term priorities, commitments and actions. During 2011 we reviewed our corporate plan and priorities to ensure that it is fit for purpose. We are now consulting on a new corporate plan and priorities for 2012 to 2016.
