The 2011 Tour of Britain cycle race took place over eight days, it began in Peebles on Sunday 11 September and finished in the heart of London on Sunday 18 September 2011.

On Saturday 17 September the 7th stage of the race started from Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds and wound its way through Suffolk to pass into Norfolk and finished at Sandringham.

The actual race started at 10.15am but the teams started to arrive from 8am onwards and running alongside the event was a community festival that was lots of fun and entertainment for all.  Also, as soon as the professional riders departed there was the opportunity to watch some cycle racing on Angel Hill as businesses and community groups took part in the Cycling Challenge. For more information download the Tour of Britain Races leaflet (PDF 83Kb). There was also children's races where all ages got the chance to beat the clock.

Come and enjoy the fun and be part of a great free day out.
