The park is open all the year round, planted with lots of spring bulbs and is surrounded by a tree belt. It has a children's play area to cater for different age groups of children, public toilets, a kiosk selling snacks in the summer months and a bandstand that can be hired. Haverhill Town Council and the St Edmundsbury Borough Council hold community events in the grounds.
