Park safety

 

It is very important to us that we keep our parks and open spaces safe and enjoyable for all, and therefore St Edmundsbury Borough Council does all it can to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour (for example litter, graffiti, dog fouling, drugs misuse and noise pollution).

The borough has:

  • a Community Safety Officer who works in partnership with other agencies to reduce this kind of behaviour;
  • full-time park keepers in the Abbey Gardens;
  • full-time park rangers at East Town Park, Hardwick Heath, Nowton Park and West Stow Country Park; and
  • mobile park rangers who regularly inspect all borough-owned public open spaces.
