Uniformed rangers are on duty throughout the week, including weekends, and during the evenings in spring and summer.


The Countryside Centre

The centre is open from 11am until 5pm at weekends and during the school summer holidays, and from 11am until 4pm during the winter. Information about the park, gifts and refreshments are also available.

The Countryside Centre is also available for hire for meetings. The maximum capacity is 40 people. Fees from 1 April 2009 are as follows:

  • standard rate £8.70 per hour
  • charity rate £4.10 per hour
  • hire of tea urn and crockery £4.00 per session

Facilities include:

  • children's play area
  • circular easy access trail suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and people with reduced mobility
  • disabled toilet
  • picnic area
  • reserved parking for disabled visitors


Please note:

  • Activities such as fishing are not allowed in the park. Please see the noticeboard outside the Countryside Centre for more details.
  • Dogs accompanied by responsible owners are welcome and can be exercised off-lead.
  • For the comfort of other visitors and the protection of wildlife, dogs must be kept under control at all times. Owners should be prepared to put their dog on a lead if requested by a Park Ranger.
  • For health and safety reasons all areas of the park are subject to The Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 - please clean up after your dog.
