A number of locations are available to hire for events. These include:
We want to ensure that by permitting events in our parks and open spaces that they:
- are safe and enjoyable for those attending;
- are properly planned;
- do not unreasonably disrupt the lives of local residents and other park uses; and
- do not damage the sites, their infrastructure, flora and fauna.
To ensure that the above aims are met we require hirers to complete and submit an event application form (PDF 62Kb), charging structure (PDF15Kb) and comply with our terms and conditions of hire (PDF 39Kb).
For each event we require a safety plan, risk assessment and proof of adequate public liability insurance. The following documents have been prepared to help event organisers plan their events in a safe and considered manner:
Filming charges from 1 April 2012
The cost of hiring facilities for the purpose of filming by television companies and other commercial organisations, where filming is not for the town's benefit is £800.
Fees and charges
Fees are calculated on an individual basis depending upon a number of factors, including the type of organisation applying, the area of open space required, and the level of input required from Parks and Landscapes staff. Prices are available upon application.
