The band competition gave 12 St Edmundsbury based bands the opportunity to play in a prestigious venue with professional setup. St Edmundsbury Youth Forum members helped to put on the event by doing the lighting, photography, filming, wristbanding, cloakroom and so on. Even though the event had an overall winner, the aim of the competition was much more about developing the talent and young people within St Edmundsbury. To say nothing of the enthusiastic and dedicated attitude of the crowds which are attracted to the competition!
The final We had a capacity crowd at the final, with people queuing for tickets who saw The Four Kicks take both the popular vote and the judges vote to be crowned this year's champions! They win £500 worth of equipment from Sounds Plus, a recording session at West Suffolk College and 500 CDs from Digital Disc Duplication. Sadly due to a technical failure we do not have any photos of the final, please visit the BBC website below for their images of the night.
BurySOUND 2006 was an alcohol, drug and smoke free event.
