Developer chosen for the restoration of the West Front in Bury St Edmunds

A renovation programme for the West Front, an important grade 1 listed building in the historic centre of Bury St Edmunds, will soon be under way. A panel which included representatives from St Edmundsbury, English Heritage and the Bury St Edmunds Town Trust has decided to appoint East Anglian developer Hawes and Southgate.

The Bury St Edmunds Town Mayor, Cllr Frank Warby and Canon Peter Barham of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, will be joined by councillors, children from two Bury St Edmunds schools and representatives from religious groups, at a special ceremony on Thursday 27 January to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

Lord of the Rings returns to West Stow

The popular family challenge event with a Lord of the Rings theme known as RING QUEST is set to return to West Stow Country Park near Bury St Edmunds during the forthcoming half-term holiday. The event is now in its third year at West Stow and continues to grow in size and popularity each year. With a great new prize, plus additional puzzles and drawing activities, the event should be even bigger and better than before!
