Sports teams and referees using Motts Field in Haverhill are benefiting after the changing rooms were given a major facelift by St Edmundsbury Borough Council.
Older equipment and damaged lockers were removed from the pavilion, and the entire facility was redecorated. New benches were then installed in the four team changing rooms and two rooms for referees.
Work on the well-used site, which caters for adult teams as well as youth sides, cost a total of £5000 to complete.
Cllr Terry Clements, Portfolio Holder with responsibility for leisure and sport, said:
“This investment emphasises the importance we place on grassroots sport and to the health and well-being of everyone in the borough. The improvements at Motts Field will make a real difference to the teams who use the popular site and prove that spending does not have to run into millions to have a massive impact.”
