Moyse’s HallMuseum in Bury St Edmunds will be taking a close look at the many aspects of health and medicine over the coming weeks, with a series of lectures being given by local historian Pat Murrell.
The lectures are designed to complement the diverse displays of medical items now on show at Moyse’s Hall and will take place on the following dates:
-Wednesday 18 February: The Apothecary through to Eyes and Teeth, Apothecary in Late Stuart Suffolk
-Wednesday 3 March: SuffolkCountyHospital - its Georgian Origins
-Wednesday 17 March: Death and Burial in Suffolk 1660-1830
-Wednesday 31 March: Eyes and Teeth in Georgian England.
Pat Murrell lectures regularly in the St Edmundsbury area and has undertaken extensive research into all aspects of Georgian Bury St Edmunds, which is her specialist topic.
The lectures take place between 2-4pm on the selected dates and cost £3.50 for adults/£3.00 for concessions, with refreshments included. Booking is advisable and can be made by calling Moyse’s HallMuseum on 01284 706183.
