A coach trip to three famous working mills in St Edmundsbury has been arranged for Sunday 11 May, as part of National Mills Weekend. The trip includes Bardwell Mill, Stanton Mill and Pakenham Mill. The coach leaves Bury St Edmunds Bus Station at 2pm and returns at 5pm. The cost is £3 for an adult and £2 for a child.
At Georgian Bardwell Windmill there will be bread making, vintage vehicles and craft exhibitions and at Stanton Post Mill, there will be flour for sale and guided tours. Pakenham Watermill is the last working watermill in Suffolk and milling has taken place on the site for almost 1000 years. Here there will be milling demonstrations, countryside walks and light refreshments available.
