Fast track fishing permits

29 July, 2008

With the fishing season now in full flow, keen and amateur anglers can purchase a permit in just five minutes.

Fishing enthusiasts can purchase a permit directly from the Borough Offices, Angel Hill or St Edmundsbury House, Western Way in Bury St Edmunds or from the Haverhill Offices, Lower Downs Slade. This will allow them to fish on St Edmundsbury Borough Council owned waters at selected ponds at Nowton Park, Hardwick Heath and Moreton Hall in Bury St Edmunds and at Castle Playing Fields in Haverhill. The permits will be valid until 15 March 2009 and cost £10.30 for adults and £5.15 for children aged 16 and under.

Applicants must hold a rod licence to accompany the permit unless they are under 12 years old and these can be bought from the Post Office or any angling shop.
