Become a time detective and uncover the past

29 May, 2007

Youngsters enjoying their half-term break can find out more about how previous generations lived at a special event combining archaeology and the study of waste.

The ‘garbology’ event, which will take place tomorrow (30 May) at Clare Castle Country Park, will give children of all ages the chance to find out more about other people’s lives and how they differ from modern lifestyles by looking at the things they have thrown away. The event, which is free and runs between 2pm and 4pm, will specifically look at the period stretching from pre-1970s to modern day.

The project has been organised by St Edmundsbury, Suffolk County Council and Clare Castle Country Park, and is designed to raise awareness of the problems caused by growing volumes of waste.
