Colourful, historically costumed tradespeople demonstrate mediaeval crafts and hand out remedies and potions to interested visitors
The craft secrets of Bury St Edmunds’ mediaeval trades will be brought to life at Moyses Hall on Saturday 17 May from 10am to 5pm. Historical trades people, including an apothecary, a bookbinder, a printer and more, will be demonstrating their trades as part of the exhibition ‘The Market’!
A mediaeval stonemason will reveal how the spectacular arches in Moyse’s Hall were built during a ‘walk and talk’ starting at 11am, and moving on to the Malthouse in Risbygate Street, to explore the trade of brewing, while wandering minstrels and historic musicians Kit and Kate entertain.
Participation is included in the admission fee, £3.00 for adults, £2.00 for children and concessions; and £9.00 for a family (made up of two adults and up to three children). Admission is free for St Edmundsbury residents.
For further details contact Moyse’s Hall on 01284 706183 or www.moyseshall.org or call in for a leaflet.
