Work is due to begin next week on felling a horse chestnut tree in the AbbeyGardens in Bury St Edmunds.
The mature tree, which lies close to Alwyne House, has reached the end of its natural lifespan. The decision has been taken to fell it to prevent it from becoming a danger to people using the gardens.
Removing the horse chestnut will also give two other nearby trees more room to grow.
The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday (31 October).
