An experimental residents’ parking scheme trialled in Bury St Edmunds is to become permanent to help ease parking problems for local residents.
The scheme, in the Victoria Street area, will be introduced permanently on 1 September following consultation with local residents. It was brought in on a trial basis on 1 May 2006.
The zone covers Victoria Street, Princes Street, part of Kings Road, Chalk Road, Albert Street and Albert Crescent.
Residents who live in the zone can apply for a permit from St Edmundsbury’s engineering department on 01284 757335.
