Following the success of the 2003 ‘Haverhill Big Day Out’, young people of all ages will have another opportunity to try their hand at a range of exciting activities at this year’s event.
The Big Day Out is a fun-packed event for all the family and will be held at The Recreational Ground on Tuesday 27 July and is free to attend. This initiative aims to bring the community together and highlights the vast range of opportunities available in Haverhill. Everyone will be encouraged to get involved but in particular this will offer young people a chance to try out different activities.
The Big Day Out is organised by St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Suffolk County Council Community Education with funding from the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership. Organisations that have already pledged their support include local voluntary groups, the Police, Fire Service, Havebury Housing Association, Connexions and St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s Environmental Health and Animal Wardens. In addition there will be plenty of activities and stalls for all ages, including bouncy castles, ball pool, ice rink and climbing wall. Everyone is welcome to come along with a picnic and enjoy the fun.
