St Edmundsbury’s new Cabinet unveiled

St Edmundsbury’s new Cabinet has been announced at the borough council’s annual meeting, held today in the Athenaeum. During the meeting, Cllr John Griffiths was re-elected as leader of the council and announced the portfolio holders which will make up the Cabinet. They are:

Cllr John Griffiths, Council Leader, said:

 

“These new portfolios reflect both the progress we have made over the last four years and our aims for the future. Together with our fellow councillors, officers and staff, we remain wholly committed to serving people in St Edmundsbury and will work hard to improve the quality of life for everyone in the borough – irrespective of party politics.”

 

During the meeting, Cllr Mark Ereira-Guyer was elected as chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Cllr Stefan Oliver as vice chairman.

 

Cllr John Hale was elected as chairman of the Performance and Audit Committee and Cllr Christopher Spicer as vice chairman.

 

The Policy Development Committee will be chaired by Cllr Ian Houlder and Cllr David Nettleton will be vice chairman.
