The apex is pleased to host The Johnny Cash Roadshow

17 February, 2012

The apex is pleased to host The Johnny Cash Roadshow on Saturday 3 March; with their energetic and entertaining celebration of one of America's greatest music performers - this is the finest tribute to Johnny Cash, 'The Man in Black'.

The Johnny Cash Roadshow will perform material from throughout Cash's career from 'Walk the Line' and 'Folsom Prison Blues', recorded with Sun Records in the 1950's to 'Hurt', Johnny Cash's last release in 2002, recorded by Rick Rubin for his American Recordings label. There are many stops in between bringing all the favourites, 'Man in Black', 'Boy named Sue', 'The Ring of Fire'. The show also brings a focus on the duets Johnny and June sang, including 'Jackson', 'Darling Companion', Help Me Make it Through the Night'. 2011 has seen new songs introduced to the show and a very special feature with Jill Schoonjans on Autoharp performing as June Carter would have.

From start to finish the band take the audience through the Johnny Cash live show experience. The chemistry of Johnny and June is also brought to the stage and together with the accompanying video projection, which brings evocative images to each song, all help to complete the story of the life of a 'legend'. The performance is energetic and entertaining for all to enjoy.

The band features award winning Clive John as Johnny Cash, Jill Schoonjans as June Carter, Nick Davis - electric guitar and vocals, Alan Parker - double bass and vocals and Jim 'E' Williams drums and vocals. Clive John is also a songwriter and his latest album 'The Spirit' has recently been nominated for Best British Country Music Album of the year!

"This is Johnny Cash, only better – can you believe it?!!!" Borough Theatre, Abergavenney.

"The band deliver a high energy performance which everyone seems to enjoy - irrespective of whether you're an ardent fan of the country legend or not." Irish World.

Show starts approximately 7.30pm, tickets are £17 (with £15 concessions) available from the apex Box Office on 01284 758000 or online at www.theapex.co.uk.
