New play equipment at Moreton Hall

16 March, 2007

Children living in Bury St Edmunds will be able to play in safe and secure surroundings when new facilities officially open in Moreton Hall next week.

The new play area, at Moreton Heights, has been provided for youngsters living in Abbotsford Park. Swings and a multi-play unit, suitable for use by both toddlers and older children, have been installed and will be maintained by St Edmundsbury. The play area forms part of a larger stretch of open space where local residents can enjoy their recreation time.

Cllr Paul Farmer, St Edmundsbury’s Portfolio Holder for Arts and Culture, said:

“This new play area should keep both toddlers and older children fully entertained while providing them with fun ways to exercise. We are very pleased to have been able to provide this facility and I look forward to testing it out.”

The area has also been planted with young trees which will complement the neighbouring open space off Appledown Drive.
