Families looking for fun-filled activities to enjoy during half-term can journey to Middle Earth and take part in Ring Quest, an exciting challenge event for fans of Lord of the Rings. West Stow Country Park and Anglo-Saxon Village will host the popular Ring Quest family challenge between 9 and 17 February.
This year’s challenge will have a ‘hobbit’ theme but of course you don’t need to be a Lord of the Rings expert to take part. It will feature all-new clues and prizes, so should be great fun for those who’ve completed the quest in previous years as well as newcomers.
The quest sees families follow clues hidden throughout Middle Earth (otherwise known as West Stow Country Park and the Anglo-Saxon Village), collecting runes along the way to solve the final puzzle and save the realms of the elves, dwarves and men! Those who successfully finish the Ring Quest will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a Lord of the Rings prize.
Visitors will also have the chance to try their hand at archery and meet ‘Stowbag’, West Stow’s very own Orc who will be visiting from Mordor. As an added bonus this year, there are some extra activities including colouring special Ring Quest posters and a quiz, all of which are free.
The Ring Quest event will run every day from Saturday 9 to Sunday 17 February. Up to five people can take part at a cost of £6, while under-fives are free. Last admission for the Quest will be at 3pm. The café will be open from 11am – 4pm for drinks, snacks and light meals.
