Moyse’s Hall Museum in Bury St Edmunds has been announced the winner of the Small Attractions category, in the East of England Regional Tourist Board’s Excellence in England Awards.
Applicants had to submit a portfolio of their visitor attractions covering improvements to the site including access, facilities, activities, the local community and environment, backed up by photographs and evidence. Over the last year Moyse’s Hall has introduced new taped tours, a Victorian gentleman and two new loan boxes covering the Anglo-Saxons and 1950’s, suitable for use by all visitors.
Gill Hawkins, Assistant Manager at Moyse’s Hall said:
“We were really pleased to make it through to the finals again this year and even better news to discover we had won the category. The dedication and hard work by our staff has helped keep Moyse’s Hall at the top.”

The museum is open Monday to Friday 10.30am – 4.30pm; Saturday and Sunday 10am – 4pm. Admission is £2.60 adults/£2.10 children and concessions. Residents of St Edmundsbury gain free entry. For further information telephone 01284 706183.
