The safety of children crossing the road to school will be improved by the introduction of a new zebra crossing in Westgate Street Bury St Edmunds.
The existing refuge near the junction with Crown Street will be replaced with a zebra crossing with work starting week commencing 18 August and lasting for up to two weeks, weather permitting. Owing to the high traffic flow, part of the works will be carried out using traffic lights to provide a safe walking area.
The crossing will allow better pedestrian access to Guildhall Feoffment Primary School.
