NEW PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

13 April, 2004

Pedestrians and cyclists in Bury St Edmunds will soon see the arrival of new road crossings in the centre of the town.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council will be installing new Toucan crossings, for use by pedestrians and cyclists, in Parkway near the end of Castle Road and a Zebra crossing for pedestrians in Robert Boby Way.

These crossing points are already very well used and it is envisaged that the new crossings will allow the safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists in the future. St Edmundsbury is scheduled to start installation of these crossings on Monday 19 April and will take approximately four weeks to complete.

For further information please contact Mark Stollard at St Edmundsbury Borough Council on 01284 757326.
