A handy guide listing great reasons to visit west Suffolk will soon be available in tourist information centres across the country to encourage even more people to travel to the area.
The guide has been produced jointly by St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Forest Heath District Council. It gives details of places to stay, where to eat and attraction to visit, all of which are designed to meet a range of budgets and tastes. The guide covers the main towns of Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, along with the rural areas in between.
Cllr Nigel Aitkens, St Edmundsbury Cabinet member with responsibility for tourism, said:
“This guide is not only perfect for people visiting from outside the area, but can also provide great inspiration to those living in west Suffolk about the wide range of attractions on their doorstep. It makes essential reading for anyone planning a trip to our beautiful county.”
Cllr Bill Sadler, Forest Heath Culture Champion, said:
“Forest Heath is delighted to be part of this initiative, another example of co-operation between local councils. The guide will be invaluable to visitors and hopefully prove a good investment to our advertisers.”
The guide is currently available from the Tourist Information Centre and Bus Station, both in Bury St Edmunds.
