Residents in the borough are being given the opportunity to buy a solar water heating system for their home at a discounted price, thanks to a green energy initiative between councils in Suffolk.
Solar water heating systems are renewable sources of energy that can heat over half of the water needed for the average household. Suffolk Energy Action Link (SEAL) is a Suffolk-wide scheme that gives people the chance to have one of these heating systems installed for around £2,500-£3,500 and government funding of £400 is also available to cut the cost further.
People can come along to an open evening at the Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds at 7pm on Thursday 19 August to find out more. Please contact SEAL on 0800 0288 938 or email seal@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk to book a place at the open evening, as numbers are limited to 50, or to request an information pack about solar power.
