A fun quiz designed to encourage families to see the buildings around them from a different perspective is to take place during Architecture Week.
The competition will ask families to identify nine buildings from the features or details shown in a photograph for the chance to win one of five prizes. The quiz will test your powers of observation in a celebration of the built environment.
Prizes include a fully equipped picnic hamper, which has been donated by Hopkins Homes and is ideal for a family day out, a family ticket to West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village, a £10 book voucher donated by Waterstones, and a family swim voucher, donated by Abbeycroft Leisure.
You can pick up a quiz sheet from the Tourist Information Centre on Angel Hill, Waterstones, in the Buttermarket, Moyse’s Hall Museum in Cornhill, the borough council offices in Western Way and the Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre off Beeton’s Way. The quiz will run for the whole of Architecture Week, between 15 – 24 June. At the same time, a packed programme of talks, walks and visits will take place throughout Bury St Edmunds. These events will explore work carried out to ancient buildings, and include a visit to the Malthouse Project in Risbygate Street and the story behind the St Edmundsbury Cathedral tower. The programme will also offer an update on the Cattle Market development and a chance to discover a wealth of hidden details in this historic market town.
