Moyse’s Hall Museum is to throw open its doors for free as it hosts a special historical Christmas market for the second year running.
The event, which takes place at the same time as Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre, will see the atmospheric vault at the town museum filled with costumed craftspeople demonstrating their skills and showing off their wares. A wealth of goods from medieval times to the early twentieth century will be on offer, including glassware, pewter, carved wood, pottery, jewellery, cushions and clothing and more.
A stone mason will also be demonstrating his skills and there will be the opportunity to enjoy a festive drink and mince pie in the refreshment area. Traditional toys and comprehensive range of stocking fillers will also be available in the museum shop.
The event runs between 10am to 7pm on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November and 10am and 5pm on Sunday 30 November. More information is available from Gill Hawkins, Heritage Officer at Moyse's Hall Museum, on 01284 757161.
