Visitors wishing to acquire a new skill can discover the ancient craft of nettle string making at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village on Saturday 22 August with Bushcraft expert Rob Bevington.
Rob will be leading the nettle string workshop between 10am and 2pm, beginning with some salutary advice about how to handle nettles without being stung. Participants will then learn how to select and gather nettles, extract and prepare the useful parts of the plant, and how to combine prepared fibres to create a pliable and durable natural string which they can take home.
Tickets for the nettle string workshop are £12 for adults and over 16s. The workshop is suitable for beginners.
Places are limited and booking is essential so please telephone 01284 728718.
