Young people aged 10 and upwards will be able to get a new take on World War One through a cartoon workshop being held at Moyse’s Hall Museum in Bury St Edmunds during half term week.
The workshop will be held on Friday 31 October at 11am and will allow young people to explore how the war was viewed by cartoonists of the time. Images will include cartoons by Bruce Bairnsfather, a WWI soldier, and contemporary cartoons that appeared in Punch magazine. There will also be a chance to have a go at creating your own cartoons in a similar style and the opportunity to handle genuine items from World War I including a Mary Tin (sweet box), a WWI shell and fragments, and medals.
The cost of the workshop is £6 per person and booking is essential. For further details and to book contact Moyse’s Hall on 01284 706183 or see www.moyseshall.org.
