Free advice for reducing resource costs

6 September, 2010

Free advice for resource hungry businesses is available at the launch of a new supplier network for small to medium sized enterprises at IP-City Centre, Bath Street, Russell Road, Ipswich, IP2 8SD at 9.30am till noon on 17 September.

The Supply Chain Network is an initiative run by three local councils, (St Edmundsbury, Ipswich and Suffolk Coastal), together with Resource Efficiency East, to help local businesses improve resource use and reduce costs.

Hard times require positive action to cut costs. The problem for organisations looking to reduce the resources they use (energy, water, materials and waste) is finding out which actions will save the most money and how to get started.

At the launch suppliers can find out about local authority procurement practice and how the Supply Chain Network can help their business:

  • reduce the costs of feedstock and materials
  • reduce waste disposal costs
  • lower maintenance and operational costs
  • reduce reputational and financial risk
  • enhance your company profile and reputation
  • increase sales and profitability
  • make best use of environmental management systems.

The Supply Chain Network is open to all suppliers of the three councils with additional support available to suppliers which are small or medium sized enterprises.

Companies who have already increased their competitiveness through resource efficiency will share the innovative steps they took to tackle the issue and there will be opportunities to network with other suppliers over a free buffet lunch.

Network meetings providing practical support and advice will follow over the coming months.

To book your place at the Network Launch, please call Christian Figg on 0800 0288938 or email christian.figg@Suffolkcoastal.gov.uk
