6 August, 2010

Motorists are advised that there will be some disruption in the Angel Hill area of Bury St Edmunds on the third weekend in September, due to a hospice fundraising walk, Battle of Britain remembrance and a RAF Regiment homecoming parade.

From 2.30pm on Saturday 18 September car parking will be suspended on Angel Hill between the War Memorial and the junction with Abbeygate Street until 2.30pm on Sunday.

The entire parking areas on Chequer Square and Crown Street will be suspended from 5pm on Saturday 18 September until 2.30pm on Sunday 19 September.

The St Nicholas Hospice 'Girl's Night Out' takes place between 6pm and midnight on Saturday when the Angel Hill car park area from its junction with Northgate Street / Mustow Street to its junction with Abbeygate Street will be closed.

The Battle of Britain and 2 Squadron RAF Regiment Homecoming Parade on Sunday 19 September take place between 10am and 2.30pm, when the following roads will be closed.

  • Angel Hill: from its junction with Northgate Street, Mustow Street to its junction with Churchgate Street;
  • Abbeygate Street: from its junction with Guildhall Street to its junction with Angel Hill;
  • Crown Street: from its junction with Angel Hill to its junction with Honey Hill; and
