Following a successful exhibition of local author Norah Lofts at Moyse’s HallMuseum in Bury St Edmunds, Clive Lofts will be visiting the museum again on Saturday 15 May to talk about his mother’s life and work.
Norah Lofts lived for decades in Northgate Street in Bury St Edmunds and wrote over 50 best-sellers many of which were turned into films. A prolific writer often producing one or two books a year, she had a particular passion for old houses and their history, inspiring her classic 'House' trilogy, ‘The Town House’, ‘The House at Old Vine’ and ‘The House at Sunset’.
Gill Hawkins, Assistant Manager at Moyse’s HallMuseum, said:
“Clive had an enjoyable weekend at the museum in January talking to people who knew his mother and those who had read her books, so was very keen to come back again. Many people have been asking when Clive would be back which is why we have put on this additional session. He is hoping that this will lead to the reprinting of some of Norah Loft’s books in the future. We’ve also had lots of people coming in to view the exhibition so we’ve decided to extend it until the end of May.”
Clive will be at Moyse’s Hall between 11am and 4pm to have an informal chat to visitors who are invited to drop in, booking is not required. For more information, please contact Gill Hawkins on 01284 706183.
