Following the success of television programmes such as 'The Time Team' and 'What the Romans Did for Us', Moyse’s HallMuseum in Bury St Edmunds has set up two more archaeology workshops in May to celebrate NationalMuseums and Galleries Month.
Drawing on items held in the Museum’s collection, archaeologist and popular local adult education tutor Jane Carr will be running the following workshops:
- Wednesday 19 May between 2-4pm - ‘Artefacts Explained’. This looks at pottery, flints and metalwork with the opportunity for hands on discovery of technologies and manufacturing methods from a simple pot to a Bronze Age axe and lots more. Aimed at adults.
- Saturday 29 May between 2-4pm - ‘Exploring Suffolk’. Practical sessions including the use of photographs, place names and other evidence. Aimed at those aged 14+.
Each workshop is £4.00 per person and booking is essential. Contact Moyse’s HallMuseum on 01284 706183 for more information and to reserve a place.
