This year's Heritage Open Days are proving to be as popular as ever. Several tours are already fully booked but there are still plenty of places where people can just turn up on the day.
Choose from windmills, watermills and post mills to churches, gardens, meeting houses and museums. A few spaces are still left to visit the Norman bell tower in Bury St Edmunds or the magnificent Hengrave Hall whilst West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village will be receiving a visit from a Romano-British foot soldier and Moreton Hall Prep School will be throwing open its doors with staff and pupils giving guided tours in 18th century costume.
Some spaces are also available on the blue badge guided walk around Bury St Edmunds (normally £2.50 but free this weekend) and the irresistible-sounding Inns and Alehouses Walk which includes a tour of the Greene King Brewery and beer tasting!
Events will be taking place from Friday 10 - Monday 13 September. For more information or to book a tour call the Tourist Information Centre on 01284 764667.
