Bands wanting to promote their talents have until 21 August to enter BurySOUND, the competition for young musicians.
The contest, now in its 12th year, has proved to be an important showcase for local groups. It gives aspiring musicians the chance to perform, make contacts and secure bookings. Prizes will include free recording sessions, CD duplication, vouchers for Sounds Plus and free sessions at the Rehearsal Rooms.
Heats will be held at the Corn Exchange this autumn with the final taking place on 20 November. The competition is organised by St Edmundsbury Borough Council.
For details of the competition format, rules and how to apply, see the St Edmundsbury website, www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk or contact Simon Pickering for more information, 01284 757077.
