Fridays in August will be for exploring history and having fun at Moyse’s Hall Museum in Bury St Edmunds. Workshops running from 11am – 1pm include discovering fossils and trying out Anglo-Saxon crafts, mosaics, pottery and making portraits. Sessions cost £6 per child and are suitable for 7+ years.
Families are also welcome to take part in Victorian Week. From Monday 23July to Friday 27 July there will be various workshops, quizzes and activities. A Victorian gentleman will be giving tours of the museum on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2.30pm. The Friends of Moyse’s Hall will be hosting a Victorian coffee morning on Wednesday 25 July and Mabilla, the textile volunteer group, will be on hand, Wednesday only, to assist with sewing small samplers, popular in Victorian times.
All these activities are included in the normal admission price but booking is advised for tours and workshops.
