Ixworth residents consulted on new housing

5 June, 2008

Ixworth residents are being asked for their views on development plans for future housing and recreational space in their area.

Land to the north of Crown Lane has been earmarked for development in St Edmundsbury’s Local Plan. The borough council has now created a concept statement for the site. This important document will eventually be used by developers or landowners to draw up a masterplan which will shape the project.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council is now asking for people’s views on the concept statement before it is discussed by councillors.

A public drop-in session will be held at Ixworth Village Hall on 18 June from 3.30pm until 7.30pm, with displays explaining the concept statement and planning officers ready to answer any questions. The full concept statement is available at St Edmundsbury’s offices in Western Way or at www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk/sebc/live/Concept-Statements-and-Masterplans.cfm. The public consultation will run until 4 July
