Health and well-being will come under the spotlight at a special meeting to look at areas of deprivation in the borough and the effect it has on residents.
As such, St Edmundsbury is keen to hear from anyone who has information or experiences which may help with the discussion at the Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting.
During the meeting on 25 May, the committee will review the council’s strategy for tackling health inequalities across the borough and suggest improvements which could be made. Areas of concern not currently covered by the ongoing work of the council or its partners will also be identified.
In particular, health issues on the Priors Estate and Northgate Ward in Bury St Edmunds and the Clements Estate in Haverhill will be examined.
Representatives from various health improvement projects across the borough will attend and future schemes aimed at tackling deprivation will also be discussed.
The public are welcome to attend the meeting, which begins at 4pm in the Council Chamber. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Natalie Tobutt, Policy and Scrutiny Officer, on 01284 757633.
