Youngsters of all ages and abilities will enjoy the challenge of exciting new play equipment at West Stow Country Park, near Bury St Edmunds.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council has invested £90,000 in a range of robust features which aim to make exercise fun.
These include a multi-unit which youngsters can clamber over, two sets of swings, a jeep on springs and artificial rocks and a pyramid with ropes for climbing.
The new equipment replaces worn-out wooden structures but retains a heritage theme by incorporating towers and flags. West Stow Country Park is adjacent to the Anglo-SaxonVillage and attracts more than 130,000 visitors a year.
The new play area has been built to the latest safety standards and with low-rise access for children with disabilities.
Councillor Paul Farmer, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Culture, said: “The old equipment was getting beyond repair and we are very pleased to replace it with something which will challenge very young children and boisterous teenagers.
“Exercise ought to be fun, and I certainly think the new designs will prove a big hit.
“I am looking forward to having a go myself!”
Country park visitors were asked to vote for their favourite designs from a shortlist displayed at the visitor centre.
West Stow Country Park is open all year and entry is free.
